Stephen A. Gerth, 69, of Newburgh passed away Wednesday, March 21, 2012 at his home. He formally owned Wright Supply Co., was President of Truck and Mine Supply and currently a salesman for Vernon Corporation. He was a member of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, Knights of Columbus and was Past Grand Knight. Stephen was an Assistant Scout Master during his son's scouting years. He was a US Army Veteran of the Vietnam War. He enjoyed watching movies, spending time with his granddaughters and looking forward to retirement in a month so he could go fishing. Stephen was preceded in death by his son Shea Anthony Gerth; parents Norman and Evelyn Gerth and Brother Creighton Gerth. He is survived by his wife of 43 years Nancy; son Drew Gerth and wife Tracy of Newburgh; daughter Michelle Koley and husband Joseph of Fishers, IN; grandchildren Hailee and Mollee Gerth, Shea and Alaina Koley; brother Robert Gerth and wife Carolyn of Evansville and sister-in-law Marianne Gerth of Columbus, OH. Visitation will be from 2:00 – 8:00 pm Friday, March 23, 2012 at Ziemer Funeral Home East Chapel, 800 S. Hebron Ave., Evansville, IN 47714 with a memorial service at 7:00 pm. Visitation will continue from 9:30 – 10:00 am Saturday, March 24, 2012 at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, 625 Frame Rd., Newburgh, IN 47630. A Mass of Christian Burial will begin at 10:00 am Saturday at the church with Fr. Joseph Ziliak officiating. Burial will be at St. Joseph Cemetery where the Retired Veterans Memorial Club will conduct graveside services. Memorial contributions may be made to American Heart Assoc., 6100 W. 96th St., Suite 200, Indianapolis, IN 46278 or March of Dimes, 600 N. Weinbach Ave., #710, Evansville, IN 47711.
