Stella M. Grannan, age 91, of Washington passed away at 6:30AM on Monday at Washington Nursing Center.
She was born on September 5, 1920 in Washington to Albert and Bessie (McCraney) Miller. She was a member of Our Lady of Hope Catholic Church, Washington American Legion Auxiliary, Washington VFW Auxiliary, and Washington Eagles Auxiliary.
She is survived by three daughters and sons in-law, Pamela and Gary Walker of Clayton, Dawn and Dave Durnil of Washington, and June and Rodney Whitehead of Otwell; one son and daughter in-law, Steven and Karen Grannan of Washington; one sister, Margaret Moyes of Washington; thirteen grandchildren, DJ Gines, Jeff Gines, Rhonda Kelso, Randy Harris, Carrie Walker, Trig Durnil, Seth Durnil, Heather Faith, Shawn Grannan, Amy Grannan, Chance Grannan, Renee Hopkins, Heather Johnson, and Andrew Johnson.; twenty great grandchildren; and one great great grandchild.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Augustine Grannan, whom she had married on April 12, 1940, on September 2, 1989. She was also preceded in death by two daughters, Carol Anderson and Jerane Grannan; two brothers, Robert Miller and Albert Miller; three sisters, Lola Vaughn, Dolly Miller, and Ruby Wright.
A mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 9:00 AM on Wednesday at Our Lady of Hope Catholic Church with Father Gordon Mann as celebrant. Burial will follow in St. John Cemetery.
Visitation will be on Tuesday from 4 to 8 PM with a wake service at 3:30 PM at Ed Lee Mortuary.
