Ed & Sharon,

From the article in the newspaper, it sounds as though many folks will miss having your father here in their lives. But what a wonderful memory Mr. Shaffer leaves behind - that he loved the Lord and loved the Lord's church.

I have no words to cheer you on this day. But tears of grief at this loss mean that Mr. Shaffer was dearly loved and that's the way it should be for a father and his daughter.

respectfully,
Kevin Poelhuis

Many great memories of my Uncle. He was like a big brother when I was young. Remember he would bring home gifts from his work. was the ringbearer in his wedding to Aunt Maggie. Always a Godly and kind man. Lori,Tim and Tyler were blessed to call him Dad. Praying for you and wish I could be there. Hope to see you soon.

One of my proudest moments of my childhood was as the flower girl at Uncle Dick's wedding. I was made to feel special on a special day. Also, spending weekends at their house, drinking home-made root beer, holding each baby as they came along...so many pleasant memories. My heart will forever hold dear memories.

The love we have for Grandpa
Will never fade away.
We’ll think of him, our special friend
Throughout each passing day.
We’ll walk into the room
And see his empty chair;
Although we know he’s resting,
We’ll feel his presence there.
The memories of his laughter,
His warm and loving smile,
His eyes so full of happiness,
His heart that of a child.
Memories are forever
Be they laughter or of tears,
Memories we will treasure
Through all the forthcoming years.
